As the Pastor of the First Congregational Church of River Edge, I encourage you to consider participation in this vital and exciting congregation. We are a community seeking to come to grips with the issues and challenges of our day in the light of our faith. But, most of all, First Congregational Church, is a community of persons striving to live out the acceptance, the compassion, the love, and the justice of the Christian faith in today’s world.


If you are looking for a faith community which will welcome you, provide you opportunities to serve others, as well as a community which will invite you to join in opportunities to nurture your faith and personal growth, we at First Congregational Church urge you to consider participation in this congregation. Welcome to

First Congregational Church

of River Edge 


We are delighted that you are visiting our site.


We are a congregation of United Church of Christ made up of members from many different backgrounds. Our worship services include a wide variety of music and liturgy from many traditions. We have a strong Christian Education program for children and adults, a vibrant music program which includes several vocal and handbell choirs, and sermons which connect our busy, modern lives with the ancient wisdom of the Bible.

Our church members are active in ministry to the community and our building serves as home for numerous groups such as Girl Scout troops, 12-step programs, Japanese language/culture school, preschool and Bag-Pipe band.  We also share our space with two other churches, the Korean Gillbott Church, UCC and the River Dell Korean Baptist Church.

We offer this website as a source of information about our congregation and church family life. It is our hope that you will look through these pages and come back often to visit.
